About Us

It was about 7 years ago that I first collected a container of water from the beach and attempted to make some salt. All I got was a boiled down paste that I dried in the oven and had to break up to make it powdery. It was bad salt.

In Sept 2012, I decided to try again, at first just for fun. This time, however I did it right and people wanted to buy it. It has taken hundreds and hundreds of hours of testing and research to get the the high quality, consistent product we now have today. Our salt is now made using a technique originating in Roman occupied England approximately 2000 years ago. 

The salt is loved by locals, visitors to the island and many of our top chefs.

Our salt water is currently still collected in 5 Gallon buckets from locations around the island. Every tin has a batch number on it so you can see on our homepage exactly where and when your water was collected!
